Before the defoliator goes back in the shed, it is worth knowing what its own spec sheet says about serviceability. These are the points it calls out on the Alloway rigid defoliator, and your dealer can help with every one of them.
The hinged top
The hinged PVC top means less build-up and easy drum access. Open it and the drums and flails are in front of you.
Knives and clips
Heavy welded flail mount clips make switching knife types easy. If a different knife type is in your plan, your dealer can walk you through the swap.
Bearings and shafts, no welding
Flail tubes carry triple lip sealed bearings and replaceable drive shafts built for in-field replacement without welding.
Finish with the belts: the belt drive runs from both sides of the machine, which is what makes it reliable, easier to service and less costly to maintain. If anything needs replacing, your Alloway dealer is the place to start.
